Photo changes

Bring the button back! The new media settings do not properly left align a photo and are entirely too hard & confusing to use. I want my simple button back. I feel like a 10 year old throwing a hissy fit, but gosh dar it I’m upset!

This state of things is highy dissatisfying. Why repair something that dont need repairing? Come on guys….
-
“If you want to vent your frustrations, it’s better to do so to the people who created the problem rather than the people who are trying to find workarounds. “
I have done that to absolutely no avail, let alone a response.
-
why don't the volunteers pay any attention to the forums?
I find this particularly offensive. The volunteers are volunteers. They could – and will – pack up and leave the moment people demand too much of them.I am sorry the staff is not responding to you. But that is the option.
-
I know exactly how you feel (regardless of how cranky I sound sometimes) but I know the guys who read the incoming Support info. It’s registering with them, even if the situation hasn’t changed yet. And the more people who DO use the Support button, the bigger a priority it becomes for Staff to fix.
-
@ boblets; I must have missed that one. I guess whoever said that can have a full refund for what they paid us, eh?
-
Actually, on re-reading I think that was probably just a typo of his. If it wasn’t a typo, it was a serious brain lapse, because it makes no sense in context.

I am angry as well–it is becoming increasingly difficult to post an image. I, too, noticed my tree image is gone. I had been using a work around already. Uplooding the media, selecting the url and copying. Going to posting window and using “tree icon” pasting info. This would allow me and uncrunched image in the size I wanted/uplaoded. Now, I cannot do this workaround and had to jump thru more hoops. Go to html view on an old post, copy this to notepad. Go to upload media or an image in media library (already uploaded) and copy location into basic html. Then save and publish. This is painfully time consuming. I would gladly pay for better solutions–I feel wordpress is going backwards with each upgrade. (sheesh)

Try using the mountain icon that’s on the image itself once it’s been put into the post. The Advanced tab gives you more or less the same options we had in the image icon, although it is one more step.
-
Oh, I see what you mean; that’s to insert. Yes, my tip is just for formatting once it’s in there.
-
The mountain icon still doesn’t left align the image the way it used to be. The only real benefit of this is the new gallery option.

UGH!!! I just came here to find out what’s going on… blah! I’ve been *trying* for the last 1/2 hr to post some pics on my blog, and naturally.. it’s not gonna happen. I get the pics up, but can’t get my text *above* the pics.. sooooooooooo annoying. I don’t have 4 hrs to sit and make a stupid blog post.. I really hope they bring back the little ‘tree’ icon.. the “Add Media” is horrid.
-
If you want to get the text above the pictures, just type it before uploading the picture, then insert the picture, then do the rest of the post. Or you can write the whole thing out and just put the cursor where you want the image to land, for as many images as you want.
-
raincoaster… i’ve been trying that. I type up my text before hand.. then insert my pic, and it shoves all my text underneath. I then try to ‘squeeze in’ and hit ‘enter’ to shove the pic down so I can put my text back.. and it won’t let me. I’ve tried putting the cursor where I want my image to be also… won’t work for me. Blah… no idea what i’m doing wrong, but it’s very frustrating. I’ve never had these problems before and don’t consider myself a “newbie” with computers.

Man, that’s annoying. Can you click over to the HTML editor and copy the code for the post, starting from the beginning and ending just after the first word of text? That’ll copy all the stuff that WP puts on the image. Then paste it here between backticks. Like, backtick, code, backtick. That makes it display properly; backticks are those little marks on the same key as the ~. Then I can take a look and see what you’ll have to strip out in the HTML editor.
I expect someone thought this would be a “feature” rather than a bug. We shall have to look at the code to see.
-
raincoaster… I just may love you.. lol! I think it’s gonna work.. thank-you! :) If not.. i’ll be back to bug you again… ;)
-
Oh, okay, if you find the trick post it here. Because I’ve been up for 26 hours and am starting to make some pretty comedic typos. I wouldn’t trust me in an hour.

The mountain icon still doesn’t left align the image the way it used to be.
You are correct. However, after you have inserted the image, try clicking on the left align paragraph button (icon #7 – http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/ ) and see if that works. That’s what I used.

To those who have sent e-mails to support, thank you. I know if they hear it from enough people they won’t think it is ID10T error. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.
