photo deleted?

How would I determine if a photo was purposely deleted or lost owing to, for example, HTML error on my part?
    Thank you

Could you please provide more detail about the matter.

I had posted a photo and some tags, which published just fine for several hours. However, I happened to look at it again, and the photo is gone. All that remains is an empty frame with a red ‘x’ in the upper left-hand corner.

My first thought was that someone had complained about it and that it was then deleted somehow by a WP administrator. Perhaps not. It most certainly was NOT pornographic, i.e., NO nudity of ANY sort whatsoever!

The blog does have several photos of war casualties, of which this was just another one. Once again: NO blood, NO gore,
    WHATSOEVER!
    Thank you.

I can see five photos on your main page – no red x.

By the way, are you sure you want all that as a title in your Sep. 15 post?

Voila! There and gone! I’ll keep track of this for a while… Thank you for looking into it Panos. I do not understand what could possibly have happened to cause an intermittent issue to crop up.

The photo was under the caption “Gazan child.” You’ve just seen it and did not remark upon it.

By the way, please direct me to the WP info page detailing what photos are and are not permissible.

Also…the lengthy title for that one photo–what are the options for the information other than what would appear as 12 point Times Roman?

Much obliged to the forum help desk…

I don’t know “what photos are and are not permissible”, or if there’s a relevant info page. You can ask staff directly at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ .

As for the text, you mean you want it to be more prominent? An easy way in the visual editor is highlighting it and selecting one of the headings under the “Format/Paragraph” button. Or you can format it any way you like in the html editor – see here:

Staff probably wouldn’t just delete an image and not say anything; you’d get at LEAST a comment, and probably a note on your dashboard or email.

Sincere thanks for the insight, raincoaster…

Just as long as you don’t delete them from your Media Library, they’ll soon show up again. Many people delete it from there not realizing that it will soon be deleted from their blog soon after.

I reinstalled one photo thjnat I had deleted from the library. The other photo was still in the library.

WordPress removed two photos from one post, one yesterday and one the day before. One was still in my media library.

    Any other thoughts?

Can’t help without a link to your blog, starting with http. Also the URLs of the images.
