Photo Descriptions

I cannot see the photo “description” once a photo has been uploaded; the title / caption are fine

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see you’ve posted this twice. Please do not do that.

Where do you wish to see the image description?

When uploading images, the title of the image is like the title of a painting. “Mona Lisa.”

The ALT (Alternative Description – required by international law for web accessibility) is a description of the image as it would appear to someone visually impaired such as “Woman sitting still, not smiling at the painter, and a work by Leonardo Da Vinci.”

The Description is used to create a hidden text file on your site with a full description of the image such as “The Mona Lisa is a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci featuring Lisa Gherardini. The woman sits with her arms crossed before her in a simple gown. She is not wearing jewelry, but appears to be sitting with a landscape featuring a road, forest, and lake behind her…” and so on. This will never been visible on the front of the site as it is read out loud by web page readers for the visually impaired.

The caption is text that is visible on the front of the site below the image, similar to that found in newspapers and magazines.

When the image is set as an attachment and not a media file (a file setting for downloading not images), the Title appears as the post tile of the post that appears when the image is clicked (with a larger version of the image if available), and the ALT is the text below the image. People can then comment on the image itself.
