Photo Editing Downgrade
-
Previously, adding a border to a photo was easy as pie. Previously, space out the photos so that the text you write in your blog post does not sit against the photo also was easy. As of today, thanks to the changes in your photo editing software, this is no longer the case.
Now, my blog entry looks like it was made in the 90s before people knew how to make an attractive website. I don’t begin to pretend as though I’m the best designer out there, but I know enough to understand that photos should be properly bordered and spaced from their text to make for the most attractive appearance — your new photo editing software updates prevents myself, and every other blogger on your platform, from doing just that.
When will you be changing your photo editing software to give us back that capability? Merely cropping and rotating a photo will not make for an attractive layout. Hopefully, you won’t be holding onto this as the final version of your software.

Hey Danny!
Thanks for your input. There were some recent changes to the Visual and Image Editor as explained here:

It helps to collect all of the feedback in one place so we can compile suggestions for future iterations.
You are correct; currently, the option to edit the border value has been removed. It may be something that we look to add back in in the future. For now, you can adjust the border by inserting border=_px in the HTML as shown here:
<img class="alignleft size-large wp-image-15039" src="URL" alt="Featured Image -- 15038" width="584" height="389" border="_px" />Editing the px value will increase or decrease the border. Just to be clear, you will need to adjust the image code in the Text Editor. This is explained here:
Regarding the spacing of the image, you should still be able to align an image and place it anywhere you would like within a post. Are you having issues with the text wrapping too tightly around your images? Currently, it looks like the text is respecting the image padding correctly as demonstrated here:

Thanks for the reply! I wrote this at the time I was writing the most recent blog, in which the text was rested against the photo. It wasn’t until after the blog was posted that I realize the spacing fixes itself. Great idea on that!
Regarding the border, thank you so much! That is extremely helpful and will help to ensure I can shape up my images in the way I like. It’s a little more complicated than I’d like, since I’m not well-versed on HTML, but I’m not one of those people who is afraid of change — so long as I don’t lose the things I value in it.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me today. Cheers!

Not a problem! I’m glad the image spacing worked out. Regarding the image border, this may be something that we look into adding back in in the future. For now, the HTML method is your best bet.
Let me know if you need anything else!
