Photo Gallery bug; Can't view tile images bigger; Help
-
I created a photo gallery with about 300 photos but when I go to click on an individual photo to make it bigger, the screen turns black as if it is going to work, but then it just stays black. The worse part is that I can’t even exit
out of it and I have to restart my browser in order to go back to the photo gallery or any other page on my blog. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Where in your blog is the gallery? I’ll be happy to take a look at it and see what’s going on!

There is a tab entitled “Photo Gallery” on my blog. The issue is that when I click a picture to make the photo larger, the screen goes black. I encourage you to try this, as I would love to see if it works for you.

No, I’m afraid I wasn’t able to open it either.
The reason I wasn’t able to is because of the way in which our carousel works. When you click an image, it queues up all of the images in the gallery. As you have 300 images in the gallery, and many of those are between .5 and 1Mb each. This means that not only do the thumbnails for the images have to be loaded in to your browser’s RAM, but so do all of the full-sized images before they can be displayed.
You might want to set up a series of smaller galleries which can load faster and easier for your viewers. That should allow them to view your images without issue.
You might also want to make sure that your images are optimized so that you get the best quality with the lowest amount of disk space being used:
