Photo in post not loading as "preview" on landing page

  Hello!

  I am a new blogger and am having trouble with my posts. In each post I have included a photo that I hope to keep as a preview on my blog’s home-page. But on my homepage, all I see is a gray box. The photos do not show up in the preview. Am I doing something wrong?

  FYI I am using the oxygen theme. Don’t know if that makes a difference.
