Photo Problem! upload of new photos, replaces photos of older blogs!!!!

This is frustrating because I have to keep going back to the older blogs to check if the photos are intact. But each time I get disappointed. Seems like the photos that I upload in the new blog will find their way around, randomly select a blog and replace any photo they fancy.
Can someone please help to resolve this.. it is very tiring having to go back to check on older blogs to make sure the photos are ok and when they are not I have to pull out the old photos and reupload and when i REupload them I risk having these reuploaded ones REappearing on other blogs that they do not belong.
It is very frustrating. Never had any issues like this with wordpress until lately.

Well, what pictures SHOULD I be seeing in that post? I see two of the veiling and such at the top, one of a woman with a butterfly on her head, one of Kbox, one with two women with a yellow boa, a bowl of crab and noodles, crab, and a sky shot, followed by “Little Miss Hopeful.”
I see you’re using generic picture names; the sky one is Picture-111.jpg. That may be your problem, because you may have already uploaded something called Picture-111.jpg. Change the file names before uploading and see if the problem ceases to occur in future.

well the crab is from the latest post which shouldn’t be there at all.
I thought that might have caused it too and will be experimenting with the method you’ve suggested. I’ll keep you posted just incase there’s more of such cases !Appreciate your help on this.

Always, always, make sure you are not repeating file names. Although supposedly WordPress will not overwrite an existing file, I would not count on it. Never use the same file name twice.

Well I just spent an hour cleaning up the blog and renamed photos before uploading them again. Will see how it goes. Hope it works, and I think it should.
And yeah I thought there shouldn’t be any overwriting of files cos I’ve never had this problem .. aw wellAm thankful for both your kind advises.

Raincoaster’s clever remark at 2:14 AM made me try something in my blog and I think I found what’s going on. When you upload the same image for a second time, WP adds “1” to its name, right before the file type suffix. So if you have uploaded an image named, say, “Picture-12” in one post, and later you upload “Picture-121” in another post, WP thinks it’s a copy of 12 and the two become identical. So my suggestion is that daphnechan00 should avoid using names that end with a number, or use numbers that won’t lead to such confusion (e.g. include a six digit day-month-year number).
