photo quality
-
dear all,
the pictures we insert into our blog posts are quite large in size but they are blurry in the blog post. When you click on them, they become sharp. Is that a problem of the template we use (The Linen Theme) or do we need to enhance picture quality in a different way?
thanks

No, this isn’t theme dependent, it’s a general issue: images downsized by WP lose some color and sharpness. See this post of mine for an example:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/image-quality/
So if you want to insert full-width images and you want best quality on the post, you need to use an image editing application to downsize copies of your images to 610px wide (that’s the maximum that will fit in the main column of your theme without getting downsized), upload and insert these copies, and make them non-clickable.
If you prefer inserting images that link to a larger view when clicked, you’ll have to content yourselves with reduced quality on the post. If you want best quality on the post as well as a link to the larger view, you have to upload two versions of each image (large one plus 610px wide one), insert the 610px one, and make it link to the large one – but I don’t think this is worth the trouble.
