Photo question

How can I make my photos non clickable, left AND right click? In other words, I don’t want anyone to be able to right click and ‘save as’ or left click to open another window and save. Any help would be appreciated. :) My URL is http://lisamichele.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@lisamichele
You can’t do it.
Best to watermark your images. Also give them non-descriptive names so image searches won’t turn them up. Someone suggested once that you include a distinctive word in the title so you could do an image search on that word to see if someone has stolen your picture (without changing the title). Here is one discussion on the topic

(there have been many)
Put this into the Google search bar to see more:

Thanks, guys. I was just wondering because there are a few bloggers on blogger and self hosted sites who have that..and was hoping WordPress would allow that. Not sure I want to watermark my photos since no matter how transparent, I don’t want anything across my photos, and if you put your name or sire at the bottom, people can just crop it off, you know?

Yes, I’ve see that “protection” on many sites. but this is from the link I gave you:
“if you don’t want your images stolen
then don’t post them on the internet
that is the only solution
because there is really nothing
to stop them from taking a screen shot of the image.”And there are other ways to take images (please note that I do not do that!!) which even someone, as non-tech-sophisticated as I, could make work…
And even watermarks across an image won’t really prevent someone determined to steal your images. Just makes it harder.

Here’s a link, panaghiotisadam. http://www.userealbutter.com
Tess,I know people can print screen and find lots of ways to steal photos, but I just wanted to make it a little less easier by eliminating the right and left clicks :) Plus, when you use print screen, the photo loses a little sharpness and quality.

It takes javascript to disable right click and javascript isn’t allowed here due to security concerns.

It’s a security issue and blogger, facebook and the others have to deal with bad script all the time. Many of them have been brought down by bad script.
This is a multi-user platform which means we all share the same files. If a blogger introduced bad script that introduced a security hole, or screwed things up, it could take down a lot of blogs. WordPress is very security conscious.
If you have to have javascript, head over to blogger or hire a web host and install the self-hosted version of wordpress. You can add anything you want then and possibly deal with the bad script consequences. Just this morning I had to completely recover a blog or a friend that had installed some javascript that made his blog disappear. It is back up and running, but because he hadn’t done a backup in over a month, he lost over a month’s work.

Thanks so much, thesacredpath. I truly did believe it was an upgarde issue. I chose WP because I heard the upgrade offered you ten times more than Blogger or any of the others. I have yet to upgrade, but I notice many Blogger users head over to WP when they want to self-host.
Anyway, good friend you are in helping your pal recover what he could in his blog :)

@lisamichele: Thanks. Right-clicking may be disabled in the blog you linked to, but I can still copy the images by dragging & dropping them to my desktop. And here’s the URL of their latest photo:
