Hi there, One thing you will want to do going forward is to resize and optimize your images before uploading them in order to maximize your upgraded space and reduce loading time for your visitors. https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/
Looking at a few of your lovely quilt pictures, I noted that some of them are quite large, which is OK if you are sending them to be printed, but not so much for a website where they are being displayed much smaller. A good pixel dimension size to aim for is 1600 pixels wide at the most. Take a look at the theme Showcase page for Twenty Ten and at the bottom and you will see the recommended sizes for images. https://wordpress.com/themes/twentyten/
Let us know if you have any other question about that.

@socalqov : As @justjennifer informed you can try Image Optimization, and check the pixels sizes, also there is another option to upload it using URLS, You can use a number of cloud-based services like photobucket, dropbox , googlephotos, cloupup etc and upload your pictures there and just use URL to display.
Hope that helps. Let us know for further questions..!

I like the idea of changing the pixels. Can it be done to photos already on the blog or only on new photos before they are posted? I will have to find time to look at the programs and see what is involved in changing that sizing. I see multiple subscriptions, but nothing just for additional storage space.

Hi again, swapping existing photos is a painful process. You would need to upload and replace each existing photo. That is why I mentioned “going forward”.
There is no separate upgrade for adding storage space. All the upgrade plans include varying amounts of additional storage (Personal 3GB, Premium 10GB, Business is Unlimited). The upgrade plans do include other benefits like removing all WordPressdotcom advertising from your site and direct support from Staff by email and live chat. Each plan is annual and needs to be renewed each year.

Also additionally you can resize them from Wp-admin , but as @Justjennifer mentioned you would have to work on each image separately, here is guide to help you if your up for it :)

Hello again, If you are trying to decrease your storage space consumption, my recommendation is not to use the in-program image editor. This actually increases the amount of storage space used as the original image is kept in case you wish to revert.
Download the image (if you don’t already have it on your computer) resize and optimize it with an external program and then upload the resized and optmized image to your post.

@justjennifer : Noted as well :) .Thank you so much for the experienced inputs . Appreciated :)

You’re welcome. :)
Many image editing programs have a bulk editing option which is a huge time-saver.
