Photobucket Video will not show up in post

    Help please. My wicked cool video from photobucket will not play, despite the fact that i have entered every code photobucket supplied twice. I’m pretty sure it’s one of these two that should work, but no. It just shows the html code in the post.

    <embed width=”448″ height=”361″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”transparent” src=”http://i604.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid604.photobucket.com/albums/tt127/mamamars/MVI_2237_1-1.flv”>

    As far as I know, you cannot insert photobucket videos at wordpress.COM. The code above is flash, and flash is not allowed here due to security concerns. http://support.wordpress.com/code/

    There is no “shortcode” for photobucket videos either. http://support.wordpress.com/?s=video+shortcode

    You could use the vodpod button to embed the video. I’ve found almost no videos it will not work with as long as embedding is on for the particular video.

    Yes, you can embed a video hosted at Photobucket. The problem is the “visual” version of the WYSIWYG HTML editor. You have to turn it off and use the regular WYSIWYG editor.

    Go to your “Admin” page. Click on the “Users” link at the upper right corner of the page. Go to the “Your Profile” tab. Somewhere on that page will be a checked box, depending on what version of WordPress you are using, that says “Use the visual editor when writing.” Uncheck the box. If there is anything in the first “change password” box, remove it, unless you happen to want to change your password. Click “Update Profile” at the bottom of the page.

    Go back to Write Page, the toolbar on the editor should be different than the one that was previously there. Paste the second code that is shown on your above post. The video should now work.

    By the way, after finishing the post with the video, you can go back and recheck the aforementioned box, and continue using the visual toolbar for other posts, and it will not affect your video post. But, if for some reason you need to go back and edit this or any future embedded video posts, you will need to uncheck the box first, or the video will not work, and you will have to redo the entire post with the box unchecked.

    Final reply, I experimented, and rather than unchecking the box, you can go to the “HTML” tab on the editor rather than the “Visual” tab. It works just the same.
