Photographer's theme: image quality in square tile gallery
-
Hi! I’m using the photographer’s theme and have setup some pages with photo galleries (square tiles format). On the website, the quality of these images in the galleries appears to be very low (blurry, like low resolution). If I click on one of the photos in the gallery to see the large image, the quality seems ok. I used either jpg or png files < 1 MB optimized for internet upload (the original versions are not blurry at all). Any suggestions on how to improve the look of the photos in the galleries? It’s the first thing a visitor sees, so I want them to look great… Thanks!

I can’t believe that nobody responded to this question. I’d like to add that the quality is not only compromised in gallery images, but in individual full size images (I also upload the optimised size for web – long edge 1000 pxl). This was not the issue before and I also started a thread in hope that someone would offer an explanation if not a solution, but nothing. My blog is bopaula.wordpress.com

Hi Paula, thanks for your comment. I hope someone will reply some time, maybe after the holidays… Like your blog! Cheers, Leonie

Hi @leonieroland, @bopaula brought my attention to this thread. I don’t think you’re having the same issue, actually. I’ll be testing to see if I can figure out what’s going on with your site. Cheers!

@leonieroland, can you try going to Customize > CSS and setting your media width to 1800 pixels? Let me know when that’s done (and whether it looks any better to you.) A full-width image on this theme, if you’re not using a sidebar, should be 900px, or twice that for a retina image.
