I have ticked the box “Crop thumbnail to exact dimension” in your WordPress dashboard under the Media Settings by accident
The box has disappeared and I cannot uncheck. I have now got only thumbnails on my post. How do I correct this problemThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Morning Zandyring. Here is my last post.
You will see that the photo is only a thumbnail. Clicking on it only produced a thumbnail.
Can I install a new theme and then will this correct the problem.
I do not want to lose all my stats. -

Hi Ken,
I manually edited the settings on that image, so it’s full-width now.
The cropping functionality has been rolled into the media library/uploader now, so that you can manage all that from one place, rather than clicking back and forth.
It looks like your content width is 497px (I found that number here:
https://kenben.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=editcss)You can manually get to that page by navigating to Dashboard > Appearance > Custom Design and then clicking on the CSS tab.
You can select your image size presets when you insert the image into the post (on the left, towards the bottom – under the image), but right now they’re set to Thumbnail (150w), Medium (300w), Large (1024w), and Full Size (whatever the width of the image is). So your medium size isn’t as wide as the post, and the Large size is really big. If I were you, I’d change your “medium” size so that it’s 497px, which you can do on the same screen you took a screenshot of:
https://kenben.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-media.php(Found at Dashboard > Settings > Media).
That way, you can select it anytime you want an image to be the full width of your content area.
Does that help you?
Cheers!

Ken,
In reviewing this, I have a few questions for you. Was this checkbox an option on a self-hosted WordPress.org account? We don’t see it on the .com accounts, so we’re curious. And we see that the image is uploaded to a self-hosted account.
Cheers for the clarifying info!

What I showed you came from another person.
I do remember checking that box.
After going through many hours of trying to set things up, things get a little hazy and takes awhile to jog the mind as to what caused the problem. But still could not correct the problem. I just did a post and everything is good. Again thank you.I went into settings, then media and checked the box that was below thumbnails.
I pay a yearly fee for my blog kenben.org. As far as I know I am hosted on wordpress. You can correct me on this.

Hi Ken,
You’re right – Kenben.org is indeed a WordPress.com site (we host it for you)!
I checked with our internal team, and that checkbox hasn’t been available since 2008, so I think that the root problem has been resolved with those media settings getting adjusted to the proper content width of your blog.
I’m glad we could help, and thank you for the edifying information!
Cheers!
