Photos are blurry. Again.
-
I’ve had this problem multiple times in the past. The first time, I was able to resize the photos from the original upload size (I didn’t set the size before uploading), and they looked fine. Then, that method stopped working, so I started resizing them in Photoshop to the exact size of my column (according to my computer, which has a 13″ monitor) and then uploading them. That worked for a few weeks. After that, I had to upload the pre-sized photos, and then alter the source link to the exact width of my column because WordPress was changing it. Then, I had to delete the height and width that WordPress set (because it would set it wider than my column) to make it appear clear.
Now, that last method is not working, and I have no idea what to do. I think it’s ridiculous that I can’t just upload the photos in their exact dimensions and have them appear exactly as they should. The fact that one method I have to make the images sharp just randomly stops working makes me so frustrated.
The photos from my older posts are not blurry, but I’m putting a post together now and the photos aren’t clear. I don’t know what else there is to do to make them clear. My previous method isn’t working. Any help or insight would be much appreciated.

I think I found a new method. I upload them at the exact width (427 px), then change both the width set in the source link (which WordPress sets to 417 px) and the dimensions (WordPress sets the width to 439 px). They look much better now (I was working on the post that just went live).
I still wonder why I have to jump through so many hoops to get my photos to look clear, though. I really want to understand what I’m possibly doing wrong or what is going on internally that makes them appear blurry when they are initially uploaded. Thank you for the help!
