Photos are gone

    Hello

After I changed my blog URL, some of the photos in the old articles are gone, but some are still there, could you please check why is that and how should I fix it?
    Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like several of your posts are still set to retrieve images from the media library at lyingonmydoublebed.wordpress.com – which of course no longer exists since you changed the blog URL.

The best way to fix it is to edit each post effected, remove the image, and re-add the image to the post from your media library (which uses the correct URL now).

    Hello Alex
Thank you, I should say it more clearly.

My old URL was lyingonmydoulbebed, and after I changed it to chilllikeapenguin, why would some photos still be there and some are gone?
I didn’t do anything else except changing the URL. How did it decide to change some of the urls of the images but not the others?

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

The Change Blog URL tool is really a bunch of separate processes that we combine into one tool.

It appears that whatever part of the tool that converts your images’ HTML within posts just didn’t work as is expected. The reason your images within posts are not displaying correctly is not that your image is gone, it’s that the HTML within your post is incorrect.

For example, edit this post, and view it in the HTML/Text Editor:

    http://wp.me/p4DPpN-70

The image that should be there is still in your media library, here:

    https://chilllikeapenguin.wordpress.com/2015/05/09/im-going-to-become-a-poet-%e6%88%91%e8%a6%81%e6%88%90%e7%82%ba%e8%a9%a9%e4%ba%ba/4065-2/

And image’s source URL got changed to chilllikeapenguin.wordpress.com

But when you look at the post’s HTML, it’s not trying to grab the image from chilllikeapenguin’s media library, it’s trying to grab the image from lyingonmydoublebed:

    <a href="https://lyingonmydoublebed.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/4065-2.jpg"><img class=" size-large wp-image-435 aligncenter" src="https://lyingonmydoublebed.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/4065-2.jpg?w=660" alt="4065 (2)" width="660" height="440" /></a>

Normally this would switch over to the new web address automatically. But it did not. I’ve tried to recreate the issue on a test site, but so far have not been able to. So I believe it may have been a one-time glitch.

The best way to fix it is while editing the post, remove the old image. Re-add the new image that correctly works in your media library.

    Hello Alex
    Thank you for the effort.
I was more interested about why so it’s good to see the explanation.
I hope this issue would contribute to the team to create a better WordPress.
    Thanks again.

    Yolanda
