photos as button links

In photoshop, I created some small images to be used as buttons.
When adding media, I selected all four of them, selected 4 column grid and the pasted beautiufully into my page. Now when I try to edit and add a link to the image, I find that they are linked as one and I can’t add a link.
Does each image need to be added separately inorder for it to have a link attached to it?Michael B

Oops, Forgot to add.
I’ve watched you tube videos that show a pop up menu within the media library to select alignment etc. I do not have this menu. If I multi select I get a pop up menu that gives me arrangement options (but not alignment). My goal is to have a large rectangular photo with the four small buttons in one column on the right of the large image. Complete text would be either above or below the large image but not wrapped around it.

That would be great. What do you need me to send you. The main issue seems to be that photos (media) added as a group are staying as a group and can not be clicked on as individual items. I’ve had to add each item separately and then add a link.
The other problem is alignment. I’ve tried putting the curser in different spots and left right no etc. If you look at the mock up I sent (done in photoshop not wordpress) I can get the large photo correct and the top “Button” but I can’t place and line up the other buttons underneath the first one as a column. If I insert the four “buttons photos” as group and choose column configuration they look exactly how I would like them but it is always centred and can’t be moved left or right. Clear as mud I’m sure!
