Photos blurry on jpgs inserted into custom header
-
When I create my own header and insert jpeg photos into it, they lose resolution and appear blurry on the page. I tried saving the custom header as both a TIFF and JPEG-2000 and neither of these could be uploaded in WordPress. Is there a way around this or do I have to save only as a JPEG and settle for the blurriness?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

These are the accepted file types: jpg/.jpeg .gif .png
Notes: Images should be saved in RGB mode, and you will see the best results if you use the sRGB color profile. Animated gifs will not display unless they are displayed at 100% full size.
All images that are optimized and presized to exact size specifications prior to uploading will have better quality, as when the cropper comes into play image quality is lost.

Prepare the image to the exact dimensions required for your particular theme before you upload it and save it as a standard JPG. The size needed for your site can be found at appearance > header in your dashboard.
TIFF and JPEG 2000 are NOT web compliant file types.
Also when you save the image, make sure it is saved in the sRGB color space or colors will go all bizarre on you.

I believe your username maybe linked to an inactive blog. If so then, to link your active blog to your username > Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Then every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

Thanks for all of the info…very helpful!
I will go into Account Details and make the change for my username.
I have a few other blogs out there that I created and don’t want anymore. How can I get rid of these?
Thanks!

When a free hosted WordPress.com blog is deleted it’s gone forever and the URL cannot be recycled and reused. Perhaps making the visibility private is a better idea as it allows you to use the blog as a test blog or to make it an active blog in the future.
