OK called sky, the call centre (UK based) checked and said they had no idea, checked with a couple of mates,on BT for example fine

Keep bashing away at this please, I only set my blog up two days ago. Checked it tonight, no photos either onto a new post or the photo in my header.

nah, and not sure how the hell you can progress this !!
maybe wordpress can give us a reason why one ISP would have problems, I work in IT and we know something has changed.
BTW checked with a guy in NZ, all fine as well

Howdy, SKY isp user here, having the same issues as everyone else. Seems a really strange problem. Could the wordpress image hosting servers been somehow blacklisted by sky maybe?

I don’t know the answer to that. I do know when something is this widespread that Staff will be hard at work trying to sort it in the backend and will choose to work on the solving the problem rather than coming back to threads, unless they have specific questions to ask, or news to share.

nope, then no content could be served up then, it is just images and regardless of TIFF, GIF & JPEG

We’re gathering info. It’s helpful to know if the problem is limited to an area or an ISP (or any other common factors actually). It’s also good not to make too many assumptions. If you’re having trouble viewing images on WordPress.com and you haven’t already replied above, let us know your location & ISP. Thanks!
@ianrobo So there are a lot of factors. ISPs have all sorts of firewalls, filters, and caching servers in place. Can’t really say for sure exactly what the problem is just yet. The most helpful thing is to look for common factors with people who are experiencing the problem.

WordPress.org blogs can be hosted through a variety of different web hosting providers. So it’s a bit different for those blogs.

OK looks like sky have other issues, rapidshare is blocked does this help ?
It’s not just the file sharing websites, as rexon91 listed a forum. It’s actually more than just that forum, every forum hosted by ProBoards.com is down for Sky users. They’re aware of the issue.
It looks (from what little I’ve looked at this) to be an issue with Sky’s peering with Level 3. Every site that appears down seems to go through Level3 and two Sky servers (px0.bllon.uk.easynet.net & px1.bllon.uk.easynet.net), immediately after that server comes a ‘Request timed out’. The tracert then carries on, but we obviously don’t see the end website.
Update: Apparently traffic on ports other than 80 works (assuming the site accepts traffic on those ports), so maybe this blocking. Proboards posted a fix by letting people use port 8080. If this is blocking, Sky or the IWF just shot themselves in the foot – severely.

UK SKY here too. No images for about three days!
Non SKY users can see my blog fine – I asked a few of them.
Eagerly watching for a solution.
