Photos from blog's media library to computer.

To whom it may concern,
I am wondering if I can import my pictures from my blog’s media library onto my computer. I lost some pictures from my computer but I had put them on the blog so if I could import them onto my computer they wouldn’t be lost.

You can either right-click and copy them from the Media Library or you can create an XML backup of the site on the dashboard Tools page under Export and be sure to include Media in it.
-
Your only option is to right-click and save them.
Media can be included when you import an XML to another site, but Media is not included in an export XML.
From: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#download-your-content
Note: This will ONLY export your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags; uploads and images may need to be manually transferred to the new blog. The current version of the WordPress.org installation gives you the option to import uploaded files, but the blog you are importing from must be live and serving images properly in order for it to work. So, do not delete your blog until after media files have successfully been imported into the new blog.

I normally tell people to also backup any media they upload to their WPcom site to an external drive or service for safekeeping.

It would be very handy if WP would just supply an export for images. Lots of people ask for it.
-
Would! But may be too processor intensive for all the full-size images that people seem to upload. :)

Thank you for the advice. I will try it. I thought I had saved my pictures but when I needed them, they weren’t there.
