Photos in the front page are not showing up entirely, just part of if.

As I insert a photo in my post using featured image, it looks fine in the post, but not in the recent posts, featured posts and thumbnail on the side bar. It’s a whole cake, but just part of the cake is showing up, as if it had a zoom or something.
How do I do in order to have the whole picture showing up in the front page and thumbnails. Looks like the template is not adapting the photo… I don’t know.
I’ve just started the blog, it’s not live yet.
