Photos missing in sent articles

Greetings – I was wondering how to include photos in my posts that are emailed to my subscribers. I always get these nice updates from the blogs I follow personally with photos in the article however when my articles are shared they only show text and non of the images I have uploaded. I am aware of how to use the featured images as well as editing the photos. However I have yet to come across a setting that helps me understand how to edit the posts that are being sent to my readers. Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is the RSS Feed URL for your posts. Take note that all media image files URLs are in it. http://thedistrictstyle.wordpress.com/feed/ Whether or not images are displayed in email depends on the email client settings that each recipient has set up. I choose not to display images and set up my email client that way. I choose no to read posts in email or in the WordPress.COM Reader. I read the full posts on the blog so the blog gets the pageview stat created when I click in. Unless we click in there is no pageview stat created. I also reduce my RSS Feed to summary here > Settings > Reading to compel subscribers to click into my blog to read my posts.

Yes I have the “read more” post setting as well. I just want at least one photo within the article to capture the subscribers attention.

It’s my understanding that as image files are in the RSS feed and if there is an image in the excerpt, then it’s not a WordPress.com issue if they do not display in the email.

Where do I edit the RSS feed? Is that something I need to edit every time I publish an article or is it a general setting?

Settings > Reading and you cannot edit it. The RSS Feed displays what’s set in the post – not the other way around. You have two choices: full text and summary.

So how do I make photos visible in my subscribers emails?

The image files are there. Either the subscriber’s email client will display them or not display them depending on what the recipients email client settings are. I apologize for not being able to explain this to you in a way you understand. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff response. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

It just doesn’t make sense bc I’ve subscribed to receive emails from my own blog which is how I noticed it. The emails that come from my “thedistrictstyle” blog NEVER show images however within this SAME email account I’ve subscribed to numerous other WordPress blogs that share articles daily and their photos always show up even with the “read more” option/ setting

  • Hello there!

Unfortunately, there is no way to manually edit your RSS feeds. However, if you’d like images to show up in your feed, you may insert an image somewhere on top of the blog post and set your feed to Full Text.

    https://thedistrictstyle.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

This way, the entire contents of your posts are included in the feed and not just display a summary.

Let me know if you have more questions.

    Cheers,

    Andrew D.
