Photos not loading and/or showing error messages

Hi, I am having issues with photos not loading on our site. This includes both featured images on our home page, as well as photos within posts.
I am running the Foodie Pro Theme and checked with the theme administrator. They think this is a database issue and suggested I check with you all.
A majority of my photos are jpegs, 680 x 400-500, and 70-100 KB. With the exception of the featured images, those are larger files, some up to 5 MB. If I load the smaller file size as a featured image, the slider images on our home page become distorted.
It seems that sometimes photos load and sometimes they don’t. I am running on a high speed wired connection and have tried this in multiple browsers and devices. There is no consistency with all photos loading every time.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
