photos not loading in published posts

Hi, when I view a post, whether when logged in or by navigating to my blog from another computer, photos embedded in the post are not appearing — there is a box with a red “x” where the photo should be. Different photos show / don’t show in the same post from two different computers. Photos in galleries appear.
What do I need to do to make sure readers can see all of the photos and not boxes with red “x”‘s?

Are you using IE8? Will you consider upgrading your browser to IE9 if you are running Windows 7 or downloading another one? http://browserhappy.com
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable compatibility mode see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

Hi, thank you for the note. The computer I predominantly work on runs Windows 7 and internet explorer 9. I checked, and the compatability mode has been off. This morning, all the photos for two posts I checked have loaded. The issue has been intermittant and variable, with different photos appearing / not appearing at different times.
Is there anything else I can do / check? Thank you so much.

Just checking back in to see if there is anything else I can do to fix this problem. A reader told me today he could not see the photo on my latest post, but he could see the YouTube video image. I’d be grateful for additional suggestions, thanks.
