Photos uploaded but not displayed

  I have uploaded photos to my site. They do not appear on the page. Only a white box or boxes appear on the page with the title of the photo at the top and small logo of some sort in the middle of the box. How do I get the photo to appear. The blog has not been published yet. It is still work in progress
