php mailer bug

I received a call from my ISP that a new bug has been found in the code for php mailer and that two files need to be patched. My blog uses the plug-in MailPoet, but I found no info about the bug on their site. Should I migrate to a different newsletter plug-in, and if so what do you recommend? Files my ISP provider told me to fix are:

    /webcluster/www/html/m/maureeneppstein.com/www/mve_journal/wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters.2.6.14/wysija-newsletters/inc/phpmailer/class.smtp.php
    /webcluster/www/html/m/maureeneppstein.com/www/mve_journal/wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/inc/phpmailer/class.smtp.php

    All help gratefully received.
