    Hi there,

My website was created using wordpress a while ago by a paid contractor. He then told me I could access the website and make edits using /wp-admin/, which I have been doing in order to edit things.

However now I cannot use this to access my site, as when I visit http://www.kurandaconservation.org or /wp-admin/ I get a white page stating “Your server is running PHP version 5.6.40 but WordPress 6.3 requires at least 7.0.0.” . I have a young man helping me with the page, but he says he can’t update the PHP if he cannot acces the backend of the website, because we cannot access the /wp-admin/. When I log into my wordpress account, which is the same login I use for /wp-admin/, it says I do not have any sites made, so I can’t access the website that way either.

    What do I do now?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We can’t help as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform but is hosted by Google.

You can’t change server settings through wordpress. You must contact your hosting support to solve this problem yourself.

I just had the same issue with one of my client’s websites. But it is nothing to worry about. Upgrading the PHP version via Cpanel will resolve that.

A quick check on your domain shows it is registered with Godaddy but hosted on Siteground. So, go on and access the cpanel via your Siteground account. Whilst on cpanel, search for MultiPHP Manager and change the version for your domain.

Let me know if you’re able to resolve it.

Thank you so much @eloquentdom, I was able to fix the issue. With your knowledge of how we’re hosted, my helper was also able to fix a variety of other things on the site and ensure we’ll know how to get in and fix things in future. How wonderful! Thank you again!

Hello @sciencevilletech sorry to hear about that. Here are my suggestions on what you can do:

    1. The easiest way is to access the cPanel of your account either through direct access or through your web hosting account (the website that hosts your website)
PS: Your website uses Cloudflare, so I can not tell whether Cloudflare is the actual hosting company or simply your CDN provider.
    2. Check your website admin email. WordPress usually will send you an email with details of the error and a link to log back into your website and troubleshoot the error.
    2. You can try to access your website admin via a safe-mode URL. I have not used it but people say it works. To do so, go to https://your-site.com /wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode. Replace your-site.com with your domain name.

    Good luck!

Thank you so much @bruvverrugnollhomescomng for the swift response. You are far too kind. I’ll try these and get back to you.
