PHP Updates crash site

    Hello!

My my site, hosted through GoDaddy, crashes every time I update the PHP. I cannot even log into the Managed WordPress when this happens. It is currently on PHP 7.3.33 which has reached its end of life. The site/Wordpress is brand new so I was able to update the PHP with no theme or plugins, so I know they are not interfering with the PHP update.

As I am typing this I have an alert that says ‘My Community Design may be a copy of WordPress with a different hosting service. Here’s the best way to find help with that. If you’re not sure though, please share your question with a link, and we’ll point you in the right direction!’ What could this mean? I cannot find anything about this alert online.

A 3rd party company created the site. I was given the login and added myself as a user so that updates and dev can be done in-house. Is sounds like there could be an issue with the 3rd party company- user or other WordPress that is still connected?

This has been an ongoing issue for a few months now. I’ve tried everything and can’t seem to find the root of the issue. Any help our thought is appreciated.

Thanks, I look forward to a response.

    Hello there,

I can see your site is not hosted on WordPress.com and uses open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) and this forum is focused on sites hosted on WordPress.com.

The WordPress.com and WordPress.org sites are completely different: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org

You might want to consider posting your question at WordPress.org’s support forum, where people are familiar with such problems and can help you in a more efficient manner: https://wordpress.org/support/forums

    :)
