Physical Location in "Like" Notification

  I accidentally hit the Like button on one of my blog posts and later received a notification e-mail. The e-mail is a bit creepy for including a guess of my physical location: “We think they’re from: [city, state, country]”.

  How is it guessing? Does software look for embedded information in our gravatar images? Whatever it does, how can the location be changed or corrected?

  Hi. My best guess is that it uses the visitor’s (your) IP address to determine the location.
