Picasa Web Image as Featured Image

  I am using The Morning After Theme and I’ve been trying to set an image from my Picasa Web Album as a featured image. I have no problem embedding the image but I can see any option for making it featured. If I load the image from my hard drive then the option is there.

  I’ve searched the forums but can’t find any reference to this problem.

  I’m beginning to suspect that this feature is not available if I use anything other than WordPress to host the images. Any help advice on this would be appreciated

  Only images you upload to the media library can be used as featured images.
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image

  You will see an uploading screen identical to that used when inserting an image into a blog post. Follow the on-screen prompts to choose the image from your computer and upload it or choose it from one of the images already in your Media Library.

  Thank you for the quick reply. I guessed as much but maybe I should read the help more. I’ve resolved the problem by loading from my computer.

  you’re welcome.

  Pictures will load faster if they are uploaded directly to the media library than if they are linked somewhere else.
