Picking Photo fro posts

I was wondering how I could make sure a certain photo shows up where my posts are summarized instead of it just using the first photo posted in the blog. Also, why is it my sidebar shows up under all of my posts rather than on the side? is that a theme problem? or is there a way I can fix it. I don’t want my viewers to have to scroll through everything before they can view my widgets and follow buttons.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1) You can’t; it will use the first photo always as far as I’m aware, unless you use a theme with a Featured Image and then it will use that.

1. You cannot chage the way any theme functions as we cannot edit templates of themes.
2. The reason your sidebar has fallen and is displaying below your posts is either due to copying and pasting or it can also be a result of importing text containing invalid HTML. Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”
Posts > All Posts, change all your latest posts to Draft, click Update, change them back to Published, click Update again. (You can edit all of them at once: tick the square in front of their titles then select Edit from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click Apply.)

I tried everything mentioned above and I still have the issue with the sidebar on the bottom. I even deleted the inserted Text wedgets. Is there anything more it could be?

When I first open the page it starts loading with the sidebars in all the right areas, but then it just drops down.
