Pictorico – attachment page bug
-
if you click on the first “regular” image of this post (the one below the 1180px wide initial Feature Image)
it takes you here
thus the attachment is smaller than the original and to the left
Is this the desired behavior?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Based on what I can see from here in looking at how your other images link the original image, and the behavior of the Pictorico theme on its demo site, it seems like you just linked that particular image to the attachment page rather than the media file.
If you go back into the post editor, click on the image and change the “link to” info to “media file” it should behave more like you were expecting.

I actually would like to have an attachment page display the image, as I need to have additional caption info available to the user. But the image is smaller, and skewed left, so I am wondering why. I have never seen this behavior before on WP. Which made me wonder if this is expected behavior for this theme.

Hi there,
I checked the Pictorico demo site, and the images are similarly small on the attachment pages there, so it looks like that’s how the theme is set up. However, I’m checking with our team to find out if that is intentional or a bug in the theme. I’ll you know what I find out from them — thanks for letting us know about this!

you are most welcome. i love this theme, and it is very useful to display large images — but i really wish this feature or bug could be fixed as to normative WP smaller image->link to->larger img behavior. thx

In the meantime, while our team looks into this, I found a workaround so you can make those images larger:
- In your blog’s dashboard, go to Settings > Media.
- Under Image Sizes, change the Medium size’s max width and max height to a larger setting. (I tried 1180 and 1180, but you can test out different sizes to find what works best for you.)
- Be sure to click Save Changes when you’re done.
Let me know how that goes! :)

th x for looking into this. i have disabled the link to attachments on this particular post, as the images are large enough, and it solved the problem. but thanks for alerting me to the Media settings control page, which I have not yet used. I will play around with it this weekend. It would be really nice if one could click on a medium-sized image in a carousel and have that action take you to a large attachment. this would be super helpful for the 80 needlepoint belt designs I am putting up tomorrow and Sunday:
small or medium sz carousel img –> <click> –> large image attachment

Hi Erin!
Thanks for bringing this bug to our attention. You should find your image attachments are displayed at a much larger size now. I hope this helps! :)
Cheers,
Caroline
