Pictorio Theme: Grid on Homepage

  • Unknown's avatar

    HI!
I’ve been using the pictorio theme for several years. I’ve had a grid of 6×4 pictures on the home page. But now when I load the homepage, I can see only a grid of 2×4 pictures of my latest posts. It changed somehow (maybe a wordpress update?) and I don’t know how to change it back! It’s annoying for the viewer if he/she has to push a button and wait for it to load to see more. I want them to see a lot more at first glance!

Could someone please help me with that? Where can I change the grid?
    my website is

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there, we’ll look into this for you. I don’t see recent changes, but I do recall this theme showing more than 8 posts at a time.

I can say, though, that your current settings could have been high for mobile phones to download — especially considering many people pay per-bit for cell data. Did you always have that at 40 or was that also a recent change for you?

    Hey,
thank you for replying to quickly!

The former setting to 40 was not a recent change, I had that for at least a year. And I don’t care about usage on mobile phones because I use my website to send to editors and other clients who will most likely view my website via computer.

Would be so happy for your help, thanks!

    Hey there,

I’ve called for staff attention, because it looks like the issue that you’ve described remains unresolved and it’s been a while since you’ve received a response from staff. Another member has recently reported what seems to be the same issue re: Pictorico in the topic Question about Pictorio Theme.

  • Hi there,

We suspect this is a bug with the infinite scroll feature. @supernovia reported the bug two weeks ago, but it looks like she forgot to follow up here. Sorry about that :)

Ok, thank you! I will try the solution suggested on the post of the other member. Merci

Hello again! I tried what was suggested by @musicdoc, but my setting is at 40, but the website only shows 8. Any other ideas? @supernovia ? @kokkieh ?

    Thank you!

  • Hm, ok, thanks for trying that!

We’ve asked our developers to look into this at https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/16471

It seems that the problem keeps on with ‘Pictorico’ theme… (and possibly with many others).

And it’s a very embarrassing problem, especially for those who have been designing the header graphics for each post in order to build a kind of ‘puzzle’ with at least 4 columns x 8 rows … (or even more rows):

    https://naturepress.tv/
    https://feronianaturehouse.com/

In my opinion, the switch button ‘blog posts’ (…displays 44 per page, or other quantity), in the submenu ‘content types’, inside the ‘writing’ subsection… (which belongs to the ‘Manage / settings’ section… has been DISABLED, on purpose.

Meanwhile, some WordPress ‘happy engineers’ argue that it’s some kind of unwilled bug.
