Pictorio Theme won't use posts page or suppress comments on pages

I am developing a blog using The Pictorico Theme.

    I have two problems:

    1. I don’t want to allow comments on pages. I have just read the explanation of how to disable comments but I can’t find the Discussion box on the edit screen that you are referring to. there’s a box called Likes and Shares, that sounds and looks a bit like what I want but there is no disable comments check box.

    2. I want my Home Page to be static and have my blog roll on a second page. I’ve gone to discussion and set my Home Page as static and that works; however, the posts page is just blank. My posts exist and can be accessed through a widget but that special page is sadly barren.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I can’t find the Discussion box on the edit screen that you are referring to.

Look at the top of the screen for a tab titled Screen Options. Click on that, and tick the box next to Discussion in the drop-down menu that appears. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/

#2 – Create a new page, title it blog or posts or whatever you want it to be, but leave the content area completely blank. Publish the page. Next, go to Settings ->Reading and assign that page as your posts page.
