-
hi, i’m using Eris theme, everything is good, except the picture align.
you can see the problem in this page:
https://zuyuzz.wordpress.com/picture-align-problem/when picture didn’t align, everything seems good.
when picture align center, there will having big blank on the top and bottom.
when picture align right or left, seems nothing different with default, but it will be a little lower than normal picture.cause i need to use the column layout, and i wnat to keep every picture and text align center, but i don’t want that big weird blank in my page.
every align have different high make me feel a little trouble, how should i do to avoid this, or it actully is a CSS theme setting so i can’t do anything to improve it?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there @zuyuzz,
So, picture alignments don’t work that well on their own when placed next to other floating pictures. They’re meant to be aligned next to some text. Can you try your test again with some text around the images? I think you’ll see what I mean. If the problems persist even with paragraphs of text, let us know.
If you want to show pictures in a row next to each other (left, right, center) try using a Gallery or Columns block instead.

Hi, thanks for reply!
I’ve updated the page as you suggest, and it seems the alignments have their own different high, no matter picture is single, or placed next to other floating pictures.
https://zuyuzz.wordpress.com/picture-align-problem/Also, using columns block will still have the same problem, (and i don’t like the Gallery style so not in my option).
It’s a unexpected problem for me, cause theme demo didn’t showing when pictures in a row on the page. And i don’t understand…in the demo page, “One big great image” have a little and pretty gray caption under the picture, but no matter how i try, my caption is black, and couldn’t align center.

What you’re seeing is definitely the way this particular theme operates.
A gallery is recommended for aligning images in this way, and while the Columns block works, it’s primarily intended for text or mixed content.
If you’d like to choose a different theme, we can cancel and refund this one for you.
Alternatively, you can make the desired modifications via CSS, but that requires a Premium plan or higher: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
