Picture does not load on posts.

  Hi guys, i have a photoblog. And once in a while i would have missing pictures.

  Tried editing it, and found tt the picture is still there both visual and html.

  Could anyone tell me if this is a problem with wordpress or is there something im missing?

  I see the images on that post just fine. The problem could be one of hundreds between you and wordpress including server loads at wordpress, invisible proxy servers on the internet between you and wordpress, temporary timeout issues at your ISP, and I could go on and on.

  I have the same problem. If I edit a page, the image stops displaying and only a red x appears. Has WordPress stoped allowing pictures unless you pay for it?

  You can upload and insert images till you run out of the 3GB of free space you have – which is a lot of images. We cannot help you though without a link to the blog. We cannot help if we cannot see what you are talking about. And links to specific posts where this is happening would be nice if it isn’t on the main blog page.

  With the image on your latest post, it seems something happened during the upload and that image is returning a 404 file not found error. Open that post for edit, delete the image in the post and upload it again.

  This can happen from time to time, and it may be due to high server loads at wordpress, or it could be an issue on the internet somewhere between you and wordpress. There are literally hundreds of things that can go wrong between on the path between your location and the wordpress servers.

  Your “hereiam1” gives a file-not-found response, but “hereiam” exists. (I would guess that you uploaded the image twice, then removed the wrong one from your Media Library). So you can go to the post editor, switch to html, simply delete the “1” from “hereiam1”, click Update.

  Thanks for the input but I discovered what the problem was. I originally uploaded it as a bitmap and WordPress must have changed that and now only allows jpeg, gifs and so forth. Once I uploaded it as a jpeg, it displayed again. Once again thank you for all of your help!

  Bitmaps have never been allowed here at wordpress.COM – at least not in the 2+ years I’ve been here.
