Picture Editor

Following the changes to the new editor how do I find the picture editing facility? I really need it to work in the same way as it does in the classic editor.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is an – “Add Media” button click on that, add your image, when the image get fully uploaded, you can see the edit icon or edit button at the right corner of the image. From there you can edit your image.
Check this thread : https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-editing/

yeap that’s right you can edit those too in the same way.

I disagree because I cannot find the full range of picture editing tools in the new reader which are available in classic. For example accurate picture sizing or adding a border. Am I missing something?
-
I can’t find them either…the options described here is completely gone. I’ve asked this question in this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/image-settings-in-new-editor?replies=3#post-2508642 but not got any answers yet. I really hope this is just a temporal error cus I miss all those options a lot and the visuals of my sites gets thwarted by this feature being so limited.

These are the options I can’t find https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/

And not these either https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/ The whole shabang just vanished, upon clicking an insterted image to edit it I get ONLY insert caption.

You can create a Gallery in the New New Editor by simply selecting multiple images at once. Follow the on-screen prompts.
As far as the full range of image editing, you are correct that it is not available (yet) in the New New Editor.
You can add Caption, Alt Text and Description to an image by selecting it in the Media screen that opens after clicking “Add Media” and then on the “Edit” button on the lower left side of that Media screen.
Hope that helps.

Thanks but not really. I am trying to be positive about the new editor but for the time being (as long as it remains available) I will stick to classic.

I found the info on using wp-admin (by adding this after the url of the blog) somewhere else on the forums and that’s become my saving grace. I know that I can still create a gallery; what I miss in that respect is that I sometimes change my mind and want to create a gallery instead of individual images AFTER I’ve insterted them. And sometimes I want to try out different types, tiles or slideshows…but that’s not possible anymore in the new editor.
That said I’ve been very fed up the past two days because it seems the editor cancells out image settings I’ve already made, links on images and captions mainly, because I make one change. This is REALLY iritating.
I’m learning how to work around it but this upgrade sure is hard work, and I really hope some adjustments can be done.

@floyabueskyttere – I understand your frustration and learning new ways of doing things when you just want *do* something that was previously understood is doubly frustrating.

You may wish to post a new Support thread on that issue (I recommend doing so).

I will do that :) I would like to say though, that I’m a rather intuitive person and I don’t often mind changes as long as its for the better. Learning new ways of doing things normally is good for us :) It seems to me that this, after discussing and reading the forums for a while, is a step down. I’ve posted in the thread about what we miss, hopefully enough people will do that so it becomes evident what’s lacking.
