Picture in Sidebar
-
Hwo can i add a picture in my sidebar? I want to associate it with a link to a newspaper article about my Blog.
-
Have you checked the FAQ, and searched the forums? This question has been answered a number of times.

Why is it confusing? I find it extremely simple; they don’t allow javascript. And it’s not like complaining in the support forums will really help.
-
@bakemyfish: It’s THAT simple. And lizii gave you the FAQ for linking images, which have nothing to do with javascript. Anyway, if it’s the FAQ you find confusing, this is the code for a linking image:
<a href="URL1"><img src="URL2"></a>
where URL1 is the address you want to link to, URL2 the address of the uploaded image. -
Guess that’s the last question I’ll ask. Sorry I’m just not as astute as everyone. Thanks

It is stripping the image sources from all image in the following:

I’m going to try to use the code tags to get the html I’m pasting into the text widget.

Hmm – I looked at your source and saw that the images were all stripped out. Have you tried putting them in without the paragraph tags (although that shouldn’t matter)? I see this in the page source:
You can find great local <a href="http://localism.com/NY/Albany">Albany, New York real estate</a> information on Localism.com Jon Huther Albany NY Homes - Albany NY Realtor is a proud member of the ActiveRain Real Estate Network, a free online community to help real estate professionals grow their business.</p> <p> <a href="http://www.trulia.com/blog/jon_huther/"><img border="0" alt="Real Estate" src="http://albanynyhomes.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/voices_small_logo.gif"></a> </p> <p><a href="http://www.zillow.com/profile/Jon-Huther-Albany-NY?scrnnm=Jon-Huther-Albany-NY"> <img> </a></p> <p><a href="http://www.realtown.com/members/jhuther"><img></a></p> <p><a href="http://zolve.com/members/jhuther"><img></a></p> <p><a href="http://www.linkedin.com/in/jhuther"><img></a></p> <p><a href="http://www.facebook.com/people/Jon_Huther/543555647" target="_TOP"><img border="0"></a></p> <p> <a target="_blank" href="http://myspace.com/jhuther"><img></a> </p> <p> <a target="_blank" href="http://albanynyhomes.wordpress.com/"><img width="150"></a> </p> -
I’ve tried that, they used to be div tags, so I made them p tags thinking it was the divs causing it. Then I made all double quotes into single quotes, still doesn’t work.
-
Wait – when you say “double quotes” you do mean that you are using the single key for the double quote and not two separate single quotes, right?
-
It’s stripped out because you’re using a problematic version of image code. See my Nov 26 post above for a more surefire variant.
