Picture into Notepad sidebar

  I’d like to put a picture and text into the sidebar of my blog, but the image widget is giving me fits. Or I’m a doof. Probably the latter. The picture is on my computer and not a standard internet URL. Thanks for any help.

  You have 235px clear in width on the sidebar, so the image will have to be no wider than that.

  Since you want the image and text, it is best to use the visual editor to create the code for you and then copy from the HTML tab and paste into the text widget.

  Actually use the link I provided as a general guide as it is aimed more at “image links,” but the procedure is nearly the same.

  Upload the picture to your blog using the Media >> Add New

  Copy the URL for the picture from the media library and Paste it into the Text Widget that you add to the sidebar – fix the size of the picture etc.

  The Image Widget needs the picture to be on your site – I don’t remember any “Upload an Image” option in the Widget.

  Hope my memory is correct and this helps.

  Thanks so much for your suggestions. Not being an HTML whiz, I used the media library suggestions of auxclass which works. When I’m feeling brilliant, I’ll try the suggestions of thesacredpath because I can see that it would be tidier.
