Picture on top of picture

When I picked my own image/picture to post as my theme it did post, but the WordPress remained in place and is on top of it, covering up part of my picture. How do I edit this out?

Hi there!
From what I can see, you have chosen your image as a background so that’s what it is right now. It’s a background for the rest of your site’s content.
If you want to add an image to be displayed on top of your site, you’ll add it as a header.
The newer themes may not have an option to add a header, but in those cases, you can create a static front page and add the image as Cover Block: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/cover-block/Here’s more information on how to set a static homepage:
You can also follow the instructions for your theme from:
