Picture Orientation

I have tried for month now to be able to edit any vertical pictures I am adding to my blog. When I click on the edit button there is no way for me to change the orientation, which is a problem since ALL vertical pictures I add show up horizontal. I have tried EVERYTHING to get this to change. Since the simple edit button doesn’t even give me the option to change it I have found a way by going in and changing it through the media library on WordPress. The problem, even though it shows me that it has changed, it does not show up this way on the blog! The pictures are still horizontal instead of vertical! I have been dealing with this issue SINCE AUGUST and I can not get it to stop. I have read every forum there is and googled it and NOTHING. If someone does not help me I am LEAVING WORDPRESS because I am so tired of this. I can not only use horizontal photos and I don’t understand why literally one day all vertical pictures just stopped working on my sites. PLEASE HELP!
