Picture Placement

Hello. I’m having trouble with picture placement. Regardless of where I put my curser and what alignment I use, often, while it either just won’t place properly, or it looks fine in edit.. then i save and it gets mucked up.

I’m now doing a project where I’m inserting 116 posts from a blog done pre-blog era, so it was done in word of all things. I don’t need the words to wrap at all… while I place the picture where there is not text and include returns where they are needed, the text is jumping up to live next to the photo.

I’m sure my issues are user error.. but help! :)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First thing you should do is go to Dashboard->Settings->Writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and update, because it sounds like what you’re doing has the potential to put HTML errors into the site, and that will prevent it from occurring in future posts.

If you really want to simplify this, just center the photos. That way they can be displayed larger, as well. Otherwise, you will need to get into doing your own HTML coding and I’m sure you don’t really want to do that.

Thanks! I’ve changed that setting. Hopefully it will all come together better. I should have posted ages ago. :-)

No worries. If you want to make that HTML fix apply to your previously posted posts, just go to Dashboard->Posts and select all the posts. Then you can set them all as Draft, then Save. Then you set them all back as Public, then Save. That forces that tickbox to have an effect on them. You may NOT have errors already, but it sounds like you might.
