Picture uploads with no data

I’ve made 3 test posts successfully uploading pictures and setting them as featured images. However, I’m trying to add a 4th post by using the same method – and even though the picture appears on the “back end” in the post and as the featured image, a nice box with a red x appears on the blog. I’ve tried deleting the post and recreating it, and using different pictures. No matter what, I get content as 0x0 and a message that says image has no data, try reuploading the image. Been there, done that. Bug in your system?

Please do not refer me to documentation again – I’ve killed enough trees. Tell me how to fix it, as you’ve done with SO many other posters on these forums. I’ve already done what the documentation tells me to do.

    Thank you.

  • It’s possible that the image file itself is corrupt.

Do you have any other image files that you could try uploading?

This is interesting…I’ve tried about 4…and they’ve all been “corrupt.” However, they all appear as non-corrupt (that is, with data) on my computer, as they work on other programs. I now have another picture in there, and it works fine – not the one I wanted, but it’ll do.

I guess WordPress just doesn’t like some pictures…or there’s a bug in your system.

What kind of file are you trying to upload? (JPG, GIF, PNG, etc.)
