    Hello, I am new here and couldn’t find the answer so hopefully you can help.
    Can I hotlink any picture on the web for blogging purpose or do I need permission? Thanks.

    You require permission from the creator in order to post any copyright image. Also hotlinking is a practice that uses bandwidth of the servers where the image is hosted. It’s not a good practice and many people clearly post warnings against it.

    if you need to use images on your blog, try “clipping” it. http://clipmarks.com offers a service which will enable you to clip images from a website and post on your blog. as far as i know, there’s no copyright infringement in doing it. also you don’t have to deal with bandwidth issues of another server/site in this way.

    Yes, copyright issues all still apply. If you’re repurposing an image for use elsewhere, all copyright issues still apply.
