Picture/Paragraph Layout

Hello!! Forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere else. I haven’t been able to locate another topic of this nature. I have the basic wordpress account (free) and was thinking about upgrading until recently. For some reason, every time I post a picture, the layout is crazy. The text (intended to be above or below the pictures) start wrapping around the picture. No matter how many times I try and edit it, it always goes back to that default. I upload pictures two different ways. One way is individually, left and right aligning two pictures side by side) – then the other way is uploading them all together and it goes into the gallery (a
box pops up and you can edit all the pictures in the gallery but you can’t set the size so that is why I do not prefer to use this way)… When I do BOTH options in one post, the pictures that I posted invidually are duplicated into the gallery post. Does this make any sense? My question is how can I fix this layout. Basically, I want my paragraph, then pictures beneath, and then a new paragraph. I tried different appearance themes thinking that may be it, but same problems follows me wherever I go. I don’t know about upgrading because I am not familiar with CSS code or any type of code. I like to type, insert pictures and click update. I am a simple kind of gal :) – Can anyone help me please?

Left and right image alignment will result in text wrap. None and center do not.

If you are wanting photos side-by-side, the most foolproof way of achieving that is by using HTML tables.

    <table><tr><td>leftimageURL</td><td>rightimageURL</td></tr></table>
