  I visited a post where you could click on a picture in the sidebar and it would bring up a particular post. How do you do that?

  Clueless as to why sometimes I can upload a photo – jpg and have it actually open so I can see it and sometimes it is just a box with an icon in it. I see it in preview but when I go back into edit the image is gone and the box is there. Also noticed that sometimes images jpgs are changed to pngs when uploaded into Gallery. What’s up please?

  @sacjones: You upload the image from your computer to your blog via Media > Add New, copy the File URL, copy the URL of the post, then go to Appearance > Widgets, add an Image widget, paste the URLs, Save.
  To avoid issues with bad browsers or browser versions, the pixel width of the image shouldn’t be larger than the width of the sidebar; for maximum widths see here:

  Thanks for the info. It ended up that I had to update the web browser.Then I had to move all of my photos out of the “pictures” folder that the program thinks is so wonderful and just make a plain folder so I could upload them. I couldn’t get into the subfolders otherwise. Access was changing hourly. I was crazy but we’re “sharing” well now.
