Pictures are Disappearing From My Posts
-
Pictures are disappearing from my posts when I switch from text to visual mode (and vice versa) while I’m editing. This is happening with previously published posts as well as posts I’m currently working on in private/draft form.
The problem started this past Sunday and I purchased additional storage space (13.0 GB) thinking that this was the issue but the problem persists.

Are these images in your Media Library ie. did you upload them into WordPress.com servers? Or are they hosted on another site?

The behavior you describe sounds like a connectivity issue to me. How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.
Also exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

I usual upload pics from my computer. However, the problem is happening with pics uploaded from both my Media Library and my computer.
If I remain in text mode I’m fine. The problem seems to be when I switch to visual mode and back again.

If you are logging in on the main page of WordPress.com and trying to create a post here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ you created an Aside rather than a standard post. I never ever use http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ on the main page of WordPress.com because it creates Asides and Asides are post formats. They don’t have Titles and can’t have Categories assigned to them. There is no post revisions ie. backups.
Aside – These are brief snippets of text that aren’t quite whole blog posts. Useful for quick thoughts and anecdotes http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-formats/
If you have been creating Asides you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post. If it’s not there then look in your Drafts. Edit the post and change the post format to a Standard post format.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/Standard – Your normal, average, everyday blog post. This is the default styling for your theme.
I recommend that you only create Posts in your own blog’s dashboard here >

My browser’s Firefox/Mozilla and yes I always create posts via my dashboard. Never through tablet or smartphone browsers.
Never had this problem before this past week.
-
When we ask about browsers we always ask for browser versions. It’s the version that’s important.
Hmmmm … I’m flagging this thread for Staff assistance.
-
I always log-in through my own blogs log-in page (never through the Word Press main page) and post via my dashboard. My default setting for format is always standard (never aside).

You appear to be using Firefox 12, which is a bit our of date. Would you please update to the latest release, Firefox 15.0.1?
