Pictures are not showing up on my blog

    I recently added some customization to my blog (I didn’t change the theme), Now my blog doesn’t display any media, including the featured image of every post, The only media that shows up is the pictures of the recent post I published. Please help and guide me on how to fix this issue. Look forward to your response.

    Hi bhavanajha,

    I see that in your post about Toastmasters, instead of an image it just says “wordpress 5”, which is the alt name for the image. When going to the link for the image I get an error 404 page for image not found.

    Please take a moment to check your Media Library to see if the images are still there. To navigate to the Media Library click on My Sites then click on Media.

    It could be that you’ve deleted some photos, or possibly run out of storage space. To find out how much storage space you have look for the horizontal line at the top right corner of the Media Library.

    Also, what type of customization did you add to your blog? Could you be more specific? Did you activate some widgets for example?

    Hello Liza! Thank you for responding. I just checked my media, and yes, I had deleted all the media files. However, I used to delete media files as I would finish publishing the post, and I would never lose media earlier. Also, I can still see media files from the first post, even though they were too deleted. I am now uploading all media files that were uploaded on my blog, but they are not seen now either.

    I did not make any changes to the widgets. I changed the background color, and updated the site icon, which I later removed. I am unable to understand the cause of this. I think I should store all my media files I have used since the beginning, and upload all of them again. I am only afraid that my media library storage space (3GB) will not suffice.

    Please let me know what I can do.

    Hi there,

    When you publish a post with images, the post will always reference the media library to find the image and show it in the post. If your images are not in the media library, they will not be shown on your blog posts.

    It may be that you could still see the images after deleting them because of your internet browser’s cache. When I see the most recent blog post on your site there are no images, only the image alt tag is shown.

    Now that you are loading the images again to the media library, the image links are probably going to be different (file name, upload date, etc.) You will have to go back to your blog posts individually and link the corresponding images again.

    It will take some time to get things back like you want them to be. But, we’re here to help! Please let us know if you have additional questions.
