Pictures disappear, & caption included in another pic
-
This happens repeatedly, & is extremely frustrating!
My blog has to do with the rabbits in my rabbitry. There is an entry for each litter. As the rabbits grow, win awards, etc, I add new pics. I’ve been doing this a long time using Windows.Live Blog, but have moved here out of necessity.
I cannot get the pictures to line up across the page, they go down the page making for a very long blog entry. Then, when I finally get them in they disappear!
The html code looks like this:
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="14 weeks old 10/5 These are the 3 bucks & 5 does that are not going to the processor tomorrow. They are 14 weeks old.10/6 Took the doe not pictured to the processor today.This Chin doe is 19.5 weeks old."]<img class=”size-medium wp-image-928 ” title=”FR Lola Bunny x Sherbet Bucks ” src=”http://cafinny.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/fr-lola-bunny-x-sherbet-bucks-14-weeks-old.jpg?w=300″ alt=”” width=”300″ height=”212″ />[/caption]
The only part that’s supposed to be in the caption is “14 weeks old” THAT’S IT All the rest “10/5 These are the 3 bucks & 5 does that are not going to the processor tomorrow. They are 14 weeks old.10/6 Took the doe not pictured to the processor today. This Chin doe is 19.5 weeks old” was either text on the page or a caption for another picture!
THIS IS A PAIN!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is what the html code looked like before I added the new picture:
<div class=”mceTemp”><dl class=”wp-caption alignleft”><dt class=”wp-caption-dt”><img class=”size-medium wp-image-928 ” title=”FR Lola Bunny x Sherbet Bucks ” src=”http://cafinny.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/fr-lola-bunny-x-sherbet-bucks-14-weeks-old.jpg?w=300″ alt=”” width=”300″ height=”212″ /></dt><dd class=”wp-caption-dd”>14 weeks old</dd></dl> <img class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-927″ title=”FR Lola Bunny x Sherbet Does ” src=”http://cafinny.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/fr-lola-bunny-x-sherbet-does-14-weeks-old.jpg?w=300″ alt=”” width=”300″ height=”143″ />
10/5 These are the 3 bucks & 5 does that are not going to the processor tomorrow. They are 14 weeks old.<div class=”mceTemp”>
10/6 Took the doe not pictured to the processor today. -

That’s a protected blog, and we can’t help you. I suggest you contact staff, as they are the only ones who can look at what’s happening in your blog.
If you want the images to line up horizontally, I suggest you set the alignment to “none” or put them in tables made in HTML.
-
I offered the only solutions I could come up with in the other thread you posted about this in.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/why-are-my-pictures-disappearing?replies=22
You might try the first thing, and if that does not work, then you will either have to have staff fix the coding for you or do my other suggestion and reinsert the images.
-
I finally got them next to each other, now the caption for the first picture includes the captions for both pictures & the second picture is gone!

The caption for this picture is for 2 different pictures. Makes the blog look stupid. -
-
I changed the settings to “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors” Is that what you need?
-
I used firefox instead of IE to correct the post about Shawnee. Actually got the pics to stay side by side (changed the % to 90% in the picture).
-
I’m seeing the two images side by side with captions under them as they should be. It looks like you got that part of it fixed, but the text above the images is super tiny.
You need to highlight that text and then click the “remove formatting” icon on the lower tool bar in the visual editor. That will take out the font tags for the xx-small font designation.

Used firefox to insert picture into FR Cocoa Beans 9/26 post. Seemed to go without a hitch.
Before I did, I changed the settings:
Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.”I’ll try the next one w/IE.

Not working on IE.
Look at the caption of the picture on this post:
http://cafinny.wordpress.com/2010/09/29/929-shyenne-had-5-kits-unexpectedly/The first sentence refers to the kits pictured. The second sentence to a picture of a single kit, that disappeared. (the picture, not the kit.)
-
You will have to edit each of the posts in which the screwup has already occurred. That settings change will apply to future posts, and to each of those posts once it’s been edited.
-
Much better on Firefox, a few clicks, & the picture is inserted in the post, properly alligned. Much less frustrating. :)
-
Please don’t continue to post to two threads. Volunteers have to check them both, and that just wastes time.
