Pictures Disappear from Blog months after posting

Hello,
I just noticed that a few pictures are missing from my blog. Here is the link http://ingridbolanos.wordpress.com
The pics missing are from blog entries on 4/27/14 and 3/17/14. If you scroll through you will see a few blank boxes where the pictures were. Why does this happen?

Please give us the exact link to the posts in question, as well as the URL of the images which have disappeared.

You didn’t by chance delete them from the media library, hoping to free up some space, did you?

ohhhh I think so. I deleted two pics if I remember correctly. I was checking to see if deleting from the media library would cause the pictures to disappear from my blog post. This was several weeks ago. When I checked my posts the pics were still there so I thought all was good. Now I see they are gone. So if I delete pictures from the media library, is there a delay in the pictures disappearing from the post itself?

When you checked the posts the pictures appeared to be still there because they were saved in your browser cache.
If you delete them from the media library, they are gone immediately. It’s only an illusion that hangs around for you because the images were already stored in your temp browser files. Everyone else sees a broken hole where the image was.

I see…. so just to be clear…anytime I delete pictures from the media library the pictures will disappear from my blog post?

@raincoaster is correct.
Your images need to be hosted somewhere, and if you were hosting them here, on your WordPress.com site, and then you removed them from your site’s Media Library, the images would disappear from their associated posts.
