pictures do not display

  I uploaded several pictures, and they appear in the post in my editor (by which I mean the page for “write new post.”) The text is there and I can see the pictures I inserted. When I display the preview, however, only one of the pics shows up, the rest have a big empty space with a tiny red “x” in the corner. If you click the title by the X they appear, but why not in the regular post?

  There was nothing to see in the post, sorry about that. I figured it out. I was uploading pics taken on my digital camera. They were originally 6 megapixels, so the images were HUGE. I resized them in my photo editor to make them web page friendly, then loaded them again. I know better than that.
